Can I come and trial a session?
Yes! We offer a free trial session for all first-timers, so you can come down and see what the fuss is about before signing up. All you need to do is fill out our Health & Safety form online, check out our class timetable and drop hattie@stateofmindfitness.com an email letting us know which class you’d like to trial. The Commando Bootcamp is our signature class – its killer but you’ll feel amazing afterwards!

What do I need to bring to a class?
Just a bottle of water – we’re doing our bit for the environment so we don’t provide plastic cups, but we have a water cooler you can fill your bottle up at. We have boxing gloves you can borrow for the classes – but if you start training regularly with us we would recommend you buying and bringing your own pair. If you are sparring, you must bring and wear your mouthguard.

Do I need to book?
No – all of our classes you can just turn up to, excluding Boxing Technique class on Monday at 6.30pm – which we only take 6 members for so you get the most out of the session.

How much does it cost to train at SOMF?
Our monthly membership is £50, which includes access to all of our classes and full use of the gym 24/7. We also have a pay-as-you-go option, which is £10/session. This can be used either on a class, or use of the gym for a day. We cannot accept cash in the gym, so you will need to pay online before attending any classes.

Am I tied into a long contract?
No! You can sign up with no joining fee, no cancellation period and no minimum contract. All you have to do is drop us an email and we will cancel straight away for you.

Is there Personal Training or private boxing coaching available?
We have an amazing team of personal trainers and boxing coaches at State of Mind Fitness, who are available from 6.30am – 9pm for private sessions. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, strengthen your body, work on your jab or learn how to box from scratch – we will have the coach for you. Does it matter if I’m unfit?
Definitely not – the more reason you have to train! We have absolutely every level of fitness attending our classes, from those who have shied away from the gym for years to our professional athletes. As long as you put maximum effort in, that’s what you’ll get out. Our classes are run by circuit stations, where you will work alone or with a pair, so all we ask is that you give it your best. I have never boxed before but want to learn, which is the best class to come to?
We recommend starting with our Boxing Technique class (booking only) on Monday at 6.30pm, to cover the basics and get to grips with the sport. Then join in with any of our BOXFIT classes – which focus solely on boxing (and lots of fitness!). All of our classes contain some elements of boxing – so whichever you choose you’ll be taken on the pads and hitting the bags. We have sparring sessions on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s for when you’re ready to get in the ring.

Can I come and use the gym throughout the day?
All of our members are welcome to come and use the gym – we only ask you not to be there when our pro’s are training (10-12pm Mon, Tues, Weds & Fri) and during our circuit classes in the evenings.
